Internet site of the week
While gathering background information about
OnlineHomeBase.com _ a free web service that lets you store
research notes and reminders for meetings or appointments _ I
stumbled across the following: "On March 1, 1999, someone
in Thailand sent me an email telling me that the Bangkok Post
had written a little review about my program, making it their
`Web Site of the Week.' Boy, was I thrilled (and thankful to
the writer, Tony Waltham, whom I had never had contact with
before).
"From there things just kept happening: having
grown ever more excited about my little baby . . . I started
looking for a name. Most suitable domains, like
"quickscan.com" were taken, but then I found
"quickbrowse.com".
Well, I cannot guarantee that our
mention of OnlineHomeBase.com this week will enable the site
to gain the same recognition for its owner, former journalist
Marc Fest, as Quickbrowse did four years ago.
But I can
heartily recommend that you visit this free web site, register
and try out its personal organiser features that offer a clean
user interface with what is essentially a simple notepad
sheet. There is a calendar and you can quickly set up email
reminders, while you can collaborate with others or use this
web resource for a globally-accessible collection of
bookmarks. _ Tony Waltham
