Rich Editing / Image and File Upload
User of Windows / Internet Explorer 5.5+ can now use rich formatting with their
OnlineHomeBase sheet.

Auto-Notify on Save
The new Auto-Notify feature automatically email-notifies OnlineHomeBase users who share a
sheet or just the sheet owner every time the sheet is changed by someone. This is
practical when it is important that everyone sharing a sheet learns about changes
immediately.
The auto-notify options are set by the sheet owner when sharing a sheet by clicking the
SHARE / COLLABORATE button. They can be set for sheets that are already shared by
displaying the sheet, clicking the SHARE / COLLABORATE button and then choosing
"advanced sharing set-up".
There are 3 auto-notify options:
1. Auto-notify just sheet owner every time sheet is changed by someone
else.
2. Auto-notify the owner and all collaborators everytime sheet is
changed.
3. Do not auto-notify (default)
Notify Upgrade
Notifications , automatic or manual, now contain information about who made the change,
what text was deleted and what text was added to a sheet. To see a sample email
notification, please click here. To notify others that a sheet has changed, simply click
the Notify button or select Notify under "more functions". This additional
information in notification emails does not work with content in calendar sheets.

Create group reminders using group handles associated with a list of email addresses (Jan
7, 2003)
Click "GROUPS" under "more functions" to
create group handles (for instance, a word like "myfriends") that the system
associates with a list of email addresses that you can specify. The example reminder below
would be sent on Monday at 9 AM to all the email recipients that you have defined under
"myfriends":
don't forget to come over tonight for Monday night
football
;;monday 9AM %myfriends
Note that you have to add a "%" sign in front of a group
handle when you use it inside a reminder.
Group handles can also be used with the "Notify
people when a sheet has changed" feature.
You can now also explicitly list more than one email address
inside a reminder as shown in the example below:
Remember to meet tonight
;;Monday 10AM a@xyz.com b@xyz.com c@xyz.com
The reminder above would be sent on Monday 10AM to a@xyz.com b@xyz.com c@xyz.com

Choose your favorite color for the user interface header (Jan
1, 2003)
Click "Colors" under "more
functions" to set your favorite color for the user interface header bar.
Repeat code for "repeat every xth of the month" functionality (Dec 26, 2002)
You now have the ability to create true monthly reminders using the
"re" repeat code (as opposed to the "rm" repeat code which means
"repeat every 28 days"). "re1", for instance, means repeat every 1st
of the month. You can use any day of the month instead of "1". If you use
"31" and the month has only 30 days, the system will choose "30" for
that month and revert to "31" for the following month. The example below will
send a reminder on April 1, 2003 at 9 AM and after that on every 31st of the month:
pay bills
;;040103 9am re31

Extended Options for repeat reminders (September 29, 2002)
OnlineHomeBase's time codes for email reminders have become more
powerful. In additional to the repeatmarkers "rh" ("repeat hourly"),
"rd" ("repeat daily"), "rw" ("repeat weekly"),
"rm" ("repeat every 28 days") and "ry" ("repeat yearly
on this day") OnlineHomeBase now allows the use of multipliers like "r3h"
("repeat every 3 hours"), "r7m" ("repeat every 7 months") or
"r10d" ("repeat every 10 days") with all repeatmarkers. Only
use whole numbers as multipliers (i.e. something like "r1.5h" will not
work). For more information on the use of time codes for email reminders,
please consult the HELP page.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Non-Internet Explorer Compatibility (September, 2002)
OnlineHomeBase will now display OK in non-IE browsers. However,
some convenience features will be disabled. Using IE with OnlineHomeBase is recommended.
Web address shortcuts for sharing sheet (August 31, 2002)
When sharing sheets in read-only or read/write mode, you can now create easy-to-remember
Web addresses like "www.bring-up.com/project_info/" that point to your sheet.
See the HELP page for more.
New Layout Options (June 13, 2002)
When creating a new sheet, OnlineHomeBase now enables you to select from 4 layout options:

New 4-week Calendar Layout
The new "4-week Calendar" options enables you to conveniently view and edit four
weeks' worth of calendar entries inside a single window. It is much easier to maintain
than other Web-based calendars. Since each day box is associated with a particular day, it
is enough to supply the hour portion of a time code to set up an email reminder, i.e. you
can simply add ";;8pm" to an entry if you want it to be emailed to you on the
day of the input box into which the entry is made. Below is an example:

QuickNotes (May 12, 2002)
Say, you're in a situation, where you want to log into your
OnlineHomeBase account and drop off some information or create a reminder really, really
quickly, without having to first open up one of your existing work sheets after logging in
(you may be surrounded by people and don't want them to see the contents of a work sheet,
or what work sheets you have). In this case, right after logging into your OnlineHomeBase
account, simply hit CTRL-SHIFT-Q (for "QuickNote"). This brings up an empty
input field. Simply enter your information or reminder here, click the "Make
QuickNote" button, and it will be added to a sheet called "Quicknotes". If
the sheet does not yet exist in your account it will be created automatically.

Clicking on the BACKUP link allows you to easily combine the contents
from all your work sheets into a single text file that you can then save as a back up on
your computer's hard drive.
